African Mountain Blues

…That’s the name of the concert our good friend and partner in crime Larry Skoller put together as part of the Aulnay All Blues Festival. I’ve compiled a video sampler of bits and pieces from the festival and our trip to France.

Larry’s idea is to record an album of music based on the work we did. Fingers crossed that that happens… So exciting to meet and collaborate with such seriously hip cats. For those of you who do not know Bill Sims and Cheick Hamala Diabate, you are in for a treat!

We rehearsed for a week with the other musicians, at the end of which we did a concert at Le Cap, a theater in Aulnay-sois-Bois. The result is kind of a mixtape of traditional and original Appalachian old time, Blues and Malian music. Aaaand tap dancing… Enjoy.
